Somewhere worth the long way round.

We design small-group and private journeys the slow, curious way — hand-built by people who have actually walked the coast road, missed the last ferry, and found the better café down the alley.

A day on the road

What a day with us actually looks like

Enough structure to reach the good stuff, enough room to wander. Here’s Day Four of the Mediterranean Coast Road, start to finish.

Positano · Day 4 of 9

  1. Slow breakfast on the terrace. Lemon ricotta, strong coffee, and the day’s plan sketched over the bay — nothing before nine.
  2. Private boat to the coves. We cast off before the day-trippers arrive, swimming off Li Galli and drifting into Marina di Praia for a dockside lunch.
  3. Cliffside walk to Nocelle. An easy stretch of the Path of the Gods with your guide, ending at a family cellar for a tasting of local Furore whites.
  4. Free afternoon in Positano. Nap, shop the pastel lanes, or keep walking — your call. We hand you a map and a short list of our favorites.
  5. Dinner above the harbor. A long, unhurried table at a family trattoria, then limoncello as the town lights flicker on below.

What travelers write back

“Fourteen days across Japan and not one dull hour. Our guide Kenji found us a sumo practice, a knife-maker, and the best bowl of ramen I’ll ever eat. Wayfare thinks of everything.”

Marisol & Dev Ramírez

Kyoto & the Nakasendo Way

“I travel for work constantly and I’m hard to impress. Patagonia with Wayfare was the first trip in years where I truly unplugged. The pacing was perfect and the lodges were a dream.”

Grace Okonkwo

Patagonia in Shoulder Season

“We booked our honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast Road and cried when it ended. Every restaurant, every viewpoint — clearly chosen by someone who loves the place. Booking again next spring.”

Before you go

Questions travelers actually ask

How big are the groups?

Small on purpose — most departures run eight to twelve travelers and we cap every group at sixteen. Private and family departures can be arranged for any size.

What deposit do you need to hold a place?

A refundable $500 deposit secures your spot. The balance is due 60 days before departure, and we’ll send a reminder well ahead of time. Deposits are fully protected in trust.

Do I need travel insurance and visas?

We require travel insurance on every trip and are happy to recommend providers. Your planner sends a country-by-country visa and entry checklist as soon as you book, and answers questions right up to departure.

What’s included in the price?

All accommodation, guiding, listed activities, internal transfers, and most meals. The quote spells out exactly what’s covered and what’s free time — no vague fine print or surprise surcharges.

Can you build a completely custom trip?

Absolutely — it’s half of what we do. Tell us where, when, and the pace you like, and a planner drafts a bespoke itinerary within a week. There’s no charge to explore ideas together.

Your next trip starts here

Let’s plan somewhere unforgettable.

Tell us where you’ve been dreaming about and how you like to travel. A real Wayfare planner will send first ideas within two business days — no obligation, no pressure.

In your first message, tell us:

  1. Where you’d love to go — or “surprise us.”
  2. Rough dates and how many days you have.
  3. Your pace: unwind, balanced, or up-at-dawn.
